Day 1: Hanoi Arrival

Upon arrival, our private Vietnam Tours guide and driver will welcome your Vietnam Holiday, pick up and transfer to the hotel for check in. A city with a blend of Parisian grace and Asian pace, an architectural museum piece evolving in harmony with its history, rather than bulldozing through like many of the region’s capitals. After having refreshed, our guide will take you for a walk to visit the Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem lake, Ngoc Son temple then enjoy the fantastic traditional water puppet show. Dinner and Overnight in a Hanoi hotel.
Day 2: Hanoi – A cycling day through rural life – Train to Sapa

VivutravelAfter breakfast, depart from Hanoi this morning at 0800. Transfer by vehicle across the river to start the cycling adventure. Travel along the Duong riverside to But Thap pagoda (The name “But Thap” (Pen Stupa) was given by King Tu Duc in 1876 when, in Kinh Bac, he saw the beautiful stone stupa shaped like a pen at this pagoda, which had previously been known as Ninh Phuc Tu (Pagoda of Peace and Happiness and The name of the Duong River sounds intimately in the heart of every Vietnamese because of the charming and peaceful countryside the river meanders through. The numerous pagodas bordering the Duong River through history have added a major attraction to the Kinh Bac (northern) region). During the way, we can stop to join daily activities of the farmers in the rice fields. Cross through some small villages before arriving at But Thap Pagoda where you can learn some interesting things about Vietnamese buddhism. We have picnic lunch at the pagoda.
After lunch, you can choose to either cycle or drive the 8km to Dong Ho village, which is known for its traditional wooden block printing. Today though, just two families are engaged in this painstaking craft while the rest of the village has turned to a more lucrative pursuit, turning out paper votive offerings. Once in the village a visit will be made at craftsman Nguyen Dang Che’s house who is renowned for his traditional paintings. Late this afternoon, transfer back to Hanoi by vehicle. This afternoon, we have arranged a mini hotel for your to have shower and rest before we take you out for dinner and overnight train to Sapa.
Day 3: Lao Cai– Sapa – Homestay

Sapa Vietnam TourSapa tour is the gateway to another world of mysterious minority cultures and luscious landscapes. Upon arrival in Lao Cai, we will drive to Sapa. This morning, we have arranged a mini hotel for your students to have shower and breakfast. After breakfast, we take a walk to visit Sapa market, town before driving to Muong Hoa valley – Lao Chai village of the Black H’Mong minority where we trek down the beautiful valley and walk through one of the world’s most beautiful terraced rice fields. It is also possible to visit one of the local families to learn about their daily life, culture, customs and habits…And in Lao Chai, we visit a primary school where we have a meeting with the teachers and students (ethnic students), you will donate some books, pens, used and old clothes…, your students will help the school to repair chairs, desks, teach English, collect garbage and burn…Say goodbye to Lao Chai village we continue trekking to Ta Van village of the Day minority where we spend the night in a local family (homestay). Check in and the rest of the day, you will help your guide cook some Vietnamese dishes, walk up the mountains to collect woods or down to the rice terraces to join the locals. Dinner and overnight in Ta Van village.
Day 4: Ta Van Village– Sapa – Lao Cai & Train to Hanoi

After breakfast, we continue trekking to the next village – Giang Ta Chai village of the Red Dao minority where your students will have another experience. Trek uo to the main road and drive back to Sapa. This afternoon, we have arranged you a mini hotel for shower and rest. Free at leisure until we drive you back to Lao Cai for the overnight train back to Hanoi.
Day 5: Hanoi–Halong Bay Cruise

Upon your arrival back in Hanoi in the early morning, Vivutravel’s private tour guide and driver pick you up, and after breakfast breakfast in a local restaurant, wedrive to Halong Bay (165km), Vietnam most scenic sight, a recognized World Natural Heritage Site and highlight of any Vietnam Tours. Upon arrival, board your traditional wooden junk. Welcome drink on board. After a relaxing break, enjoy a delicious seafood lunch while cruising through the wonderful Ha Long bay visiting its amazing grottoes and caves. Opportunity to dive off the boat and have a pleasant swimming in the deep blue water of East Sea before relaxing on your sun deck to view a Halong sunset. Dinner on board with excellent fresh seafood. Overnight on board.
(If you do not want to stay overnight on boat, we can arrange a hotel in Halong city. This option is less expensive . However, it is always more beautiful to stay a night on boat which will be a memorial experiene)
Day 6: Halong Bay Cruise – Hanoi
It is said that your Vietnam Tours will not be complete without a trip to Halong Bay and spending one night on romantic Halong Cruise. People describe Halong Bay as majestic and mysterious, inspiring and imperious Halong Bay Tourand words alone cannot do justice to the natural wonder that is Halong Bay. Day 7: Hanoi City Tour – Departure

Today we enjoy a full day Hanoi city tour of this charming capital city including the mausoleum of the nation’s founder Ho Chi Minh (close on Monday & Friday), the Presidential Palace, the Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, the impressive Ethnologic Museum, the beautiful West Lake, the Tran Vu Pagoda before we transfer you to the airport for your flight home.
