Het Cha festival (national intangible cultural heritage) will be held in Moc Chau (Son La province) on March 26th each year which is a traditional beauty of Thai ethnic people in Dong Sang commune.
The preparation for festival
Villagers must prepare xang cha (Neu tree) before 15 days. Men cut bamboo in the forest, bring the giang gia tree back. Women make patterns to hang in Xang cha tree: assembling drum, carving boats, making flowers, knitting animals: mites, frogs, birds, squirrels … and then dyes in red, yellow, green. In addition, people also prepare food for ritual items such as pigs, geese, roosters; White wine; sticky rice; cash; Brocade; Local cotton; invite from 4 to 7 couples to prepare musical instruments, be dancers.

On March 25th, people began to build xang cha. The tree is made from old bamboo with 3m long and 5-storey which is perforated holes to plug the bamboo branches hanging all utensils which were made earlier. In addition, people also cut branches of white Ban flower and yellow bo ma flower to decorate for neu tree.
Xang cha is lush, vibrant colors, beautifully placed where favorable for spreading and dance teams performing tricks. Early in the morning of March 26th, the celebrator prepares worship items. Then, the ceremony and the oracles began worshiping.
